I haven’t yet done much research on this address as yet, however it was the residence of Alfred Kursteiner and his wife in the 1876. Kursteiner was the architect behind a number of Fitzroy houses which are listed on the biography page. But of interest here, Kursteiner’s wife Catherine died here in 1876 aged just 38 years. He remarried in January 1885 the widow Margaret McRae, but at this stage Kursteiner was living in East Melbourne. Margaret only lived just over 18 months from their marriage and passed away in October 1886, aged 51 years (Alfred Friedrich Kursteiner, Dr John J. Taylor, April 2014).
