You can be forgiven if you do not know where Marion Street is. It is a small street off Fitzroy Street running mostly parallel to Gertrude Street. Between Marion Street and Gertrude Street is Marion Lane, which gives its name to one of the restaurants on Gertrude Street.
Marion Street now consists of a few older warehouses, the Quest Hotel parking and a small number of town houses built in the past 30-40 years. Back in 1935 though, it had some of the smallest houses in Fitzroy as can be seen in the photo below.
