In January 1920, Mrs Rose Simmons made an application to the Council to enable a crossing be granted at this property. It is likely that this crossing was to enable a drive way either to the side of the property or for the garage. (Fitzroy City Press, 10 Jan 1920, p.2)

  1. Factory/workshop was constructed in 1920 for the Simmons family – wholesale tobacco merchant trading as M. Simmons. Operated at this site until 1936.
