Looking at this set of flats that this is the site of one of the most interesting houses in Fitzroy. Sadly the beautiful house that was here was removed sometime in the 1970s and replaced with these flats.
So stepping back in time one of the first houses on this site was a prefabricated wooden house in 1850. This was likely outside the Melbourne Building Act but was allowed to stay. The house was said to be a teak house from India and was located at 46 Moor Street.
