The photo below shows what the house looks like today, but the magic of this place is the inside photos which I have included below. I remember attending the open for inspection and being enchanted by the possibilities for this gorgeous house – but don’t be fooled by these pictures – she needed a heap of work! I hope the owners treat her well and bring her back to her glory without completely gutting her.

Charles Rouch owned a grocery and provision store on the corner of Nicholson Street and St. Georges Road in North Fitzroy. I have included the photo of his shop below because it shows, in the background, both 28 and 30 St Georges Road South. The houses look from the image to be without the full roof. I would like to explore this one further to get an understanding of their construction.
