Messrs. Davis’ Bros Furniture Warehouse, corner Condell and Smith Streets, Fitzroy. This building on the corner is no longer there, however the shops to the left (first three windows on left of picture) remain.

In 1896, the situation on the corner of Smith Street and Condell Street is described as a main thoroughfare. “The factory is at the rear… the warehouse is crammed with a multitudinous diversity of every description of furniture. The senior partner, Mr T Davis, has had a lengthy experience in the trade, having been 17 years connected with Solomon’s business, which was conducted some years ago in Swanston street. ” The Leader, 8 Feb 1896
