202 Johnston Street, Fitzroy (The Rochester Castle Hotel)

“The date on the parapet says 1852 but this building is typical High Victorian in appearance with its balustraded parapet complete with its precariously – placed urns and free-standing pediment over the corner doorway. The general busyness of the façade especially on the lower floor is also typical of this period. (Hotels in Fitzroy up to 1906, Nicola A Piccolo, 1971).
